History & Inspiration
Dr Roy's interest and vider vision to help needy ones, all over the world, motivated him to spare time out of his busy schedule to look for more. While doing all this he met the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ohal, of HOPE & Animal Trust based in one of the poorest cities of India, Ranchi.
Mr Praveen Ohal, a young environmentalist, who 'began' his dream with a walk through South East Asia in 1998, supported by the much-welcome generosity and aid of the World Wildlife Fund and international Rotary Clubs, he set out on a walk to raise awareness and funds through Asia; the walk was to have concluded in Australia, but lack of a donor to provide the sponsorship necessary for him to gain entry, this part of his journey had to be terminated.
During Mr Ohal's walk, he visited and spoke to children in more than two hundred school in eleven countries, to spread the message of eco-protection and animal welfare. He raised funds to set up HOPE & Animal Trust in Ranchi- India, and later purchased some 27,000 SqFt. of land for the use of the fledgling organisation.
It was not an easy task, to continue our efforts
in carrying out human and animal welfare activities there was always financial
constraints and lack of resources.
